From “Captain Ambivalent’s Big Time Reality Show” premiered at the 2026 Elgin Fringe Festival

What time is it? It’s the big time!
What time is it? It’s the big time!
What time is it? It’s the big time!
What time is it? It’s the big big time!

There are thousands of people
Who are talented people
Everybody who sees them says
Somebody should put them on TV
Two thousand acts here
It’s just one of five cities
Only six will be chosen
Only five to succeed

What time is it what time is it what time
What time is it what time is it big time
What time is it what time is it what time is it
It’s the big big time (rpt)

There are billions of people
Every one of them matters
And they all have a story
But we can’t fit them all inside our brains
But we have to do better
Our hearts must get bigger

What time is it? It’s the big time!
What time is it? It’s the big big time!

[REPRISE]

See the skit was produced by
A diverse group of interns
Look! The Black kids are normal
And the white folks are strange
Take that, racist vaudeville
And your blackface tradition
There’s a new generation
Bringing overdue change
