Propellor Beanie Chicken

02/02/18 - True story. Debuted at "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" Valentine's show at Side Street Studio Arts/Elgin Fringe Festival

The first time a woman made a pass at me
I was wearing a propellor beanie
On top of a hooded yellow poncho
With a paper beak under my glasses
At my summer camp they had an animal dance
That was my chicken costume
The only thing I said all night was “bwaack”

She asked if I wanted to dance, I said “bwaack”
She said “you’re hilarious”, I said “bwaack”
She said “where did you get those glasses?”
But they were just my normal glasses
And all I could say was “bwaack”

What did she see in me
Inside the chicken costume
What did she see in me
Propellor beanie spinning in the wind
What did she see in me
Inside the chicken costume
How could she know who I really am

She put her arms around my neck on a fast song
She said “slow down you’re so hyper”
She tried to make me dance like it was a slow one
And held on a little tighter
Then she reached down and pinched my butt right through that yellow poncho
The only thing that I could say was “bwaack”
(And then I ran away)

What did she see in me
Inside the chicken costume
What did she see in me
Propellor beanie spinning in the wind
What did she see in me
Inside the chicken costume
How could she know who I really am
How could she know who I really am
