She Talks
10/31/93 - Another fragment from my pre-accordion would-be punk days appearing in the one-man show “Happy Fun Time At The Complex” (fka “The Dark Nut Rises: The Grim And Gritty Reboot Of Captain Ambivalent”)

Ah, too much competition
Living in this world of hatred and pain
Got no time for conversation
I’ve seen them all and girl they’re all the same

She talks about things that are important to her
I talk about things that are important to me
If we’d only listen, maybe we’d see

Ah, war between the sexes
Pretending they’re not the same as you and me
We must learn to be connected
Why can’t it all just come out naturally

Don’t want to talk about the weather girl
I want to touch your soul you see
Say something meaningful and special girl
To bridge this gap tween you and me

We have lost the gift of language
Stolen stifled by inane T.V.
Reason without logic loveless passion
Madness masquerades as therapy
